The American Saddlebred Horse Association of New Jersey held its Spring Tournament on Sunday, March 19th at the Alexandria Township Park near Milford, NJ.

Even though there was quite a bit of snow on the ground the sky was sunny and the weather was perfect for a horse show.  We had a great turnout of riders as well as spectators.   There were a total 45 riders showing from Millstone Riding Academy, 7 Generation Stables, Scussell Farm, Smoke Hollow and Kierson Farm.  The Tournament included classes ranging from the young beginner to Academy, to the seasoned show rider, with Judges Awards and High Point winners awarded at the end of the day.

Some of the winners from the day were Olivia Marker Pittock of Millstone Riding Academy taking the blue ribbon in the Walk/Trot/Canter Equitation class and Adrian Burch of Kierson Farm winning the Showmanship class.  Kristin Paul of Kierson Farm won both Equitation and Showmanship in the Academy Walk/Trot Adult Division.  Chloe Kraevic of Scussell Farm won the blue ribbon in the Walk/Trot Western/Hunt class.  Gianna Dolce of 7 Generation Stables was the winner of the Academy Walk/Trot 10 & Under Showmanship class and Makayla Long of Kierson Farm took home the blue in the Equitation class.  Taking home the blue ribbon in the All Breed In Hand class was Elizabeth Farley of Smoke Hollow.  For our littlest riders, Jackson Crespo of 7 Generation Stables was the Tri-Color ribbon winner for the Leadline Walk Championship and Ava Clark of Kierson Farm was the Tri-Color ribbon winner for the Leadline Walk/Trot 5 & Under.

Trophies were also awarded at the end of the day. The High Point Walk/Trot winner was Jodi Schwarzenbek of Kierson Farm.  The Walk/Trot/Canter High Point Award was given to Ivy Murphy of Kierson Farm, with a 2 way tie for Reserve High Point for Walk/Trot/Canter going to James Suggitt and Adrian Burch, both of Kierson Farm.   The Judges Award for Most Improved was given to Anastasia Bielski of Smoke Hollow, Best Sportsmanship went to Gianna Dolce of 7 Generations Stable and Best In Show was given to Sophie Esarco of Kierson Farm.

A big Congratulations goes out to all the riders!  Everyone did a fantastic job.  Also a special “Thank You” goes out to our Judge, Elaine Gregory and to all the volunteers who helped in making the Tournament a huge success.  We look forward to seeing everyone at our Fall Tournament on October 15th.
